Since I started the company in 2012, I have always operated under my initials, JHM, in one form or another. Most recently as JHM Event Group.
About a year and a half ago I acquired a quaint 6 acre farm in Allentown on Cedar Crest Blvd. For those of you in the area, we are about 2 miles north of the Target on Cedar Crest Blvd. The old 1895 farmhouse (pictured below with my Mom and brothers) has become our HQ where we currently host our client meetings and have our floral production space. My goals and dreams really started to evolve after acquiring this property. That’s also when I realized the JHM branding wasn’t able to properly represent the trajectory of my business.
I plan on bringing pieces of all of my personal favorite things (hence the name Mosaic) to the property over the next several years. Floral, gardening, food, events, retail. Assuming all things go according to plan, I am hoping to develop the property into a space that the community will come to enjoy, spend time with their families, and create memories they will cherish forever.
A close friend of mine suggested the name Mosaic and I thought the pieces of my favorite things aspect was perfect. I added it to my list of potential names and slept on it for weeks. Finally one night I started looking for a deeper meaning to mosaic and found that its root word is Latin for Musa, my last name (though spelled a little differently). That night, I decided Mosaic was going to be our new brand name and immediately started on the logo design. Of course after searching for social media handles and available website URLs, the name eventually developed into MOSAIC & CO.
As I continue to spend more time on the property, I imagine it bustling with people and how they would interact with the space. I get really excited (and to be honest, very overwhelmed, yikes!) just thinking about all the moves I will have to make to see this into fruition. I know I can do this, time and prayer is all I need.
Looking forward to seeing you on the property really soon.
